Alumni Golf Weekend

We just finished another successful MSU Baseball Alumni weekend golf out, while the current MSU Baseball Team went out and took care of business to seal their position int he B1G tournament.  They open on Weds in Columbus, OH against the Nebraska Cornhuskers (newbies to the B1G conference).  Jenee decided to head out of town and visit her Grandma in Wisconsin, so that left East Lansing to the alumni dirtbags making their way, many of whom crashed at our place (as seen below).

It’s always great to get back with my teammates, and we all feel very fortunate to remain this close, so many years after playing.  You can be sure that all of us think we are 19 when we sip well drinks from one of East Lansing’s MANY dark, basement bars…

Friday night was spent drinking, telling stories, and laughing.  As a matter of fact my stomach was aching Saturday morning from laughing so hard (I’m positive it wasn’t the Irish Car Bombs).

The golf outing took place at College Fields golf course, and my foursome consisted of:  Myself, Craig Brookes, Chris Cullen, and Jamey Embree (Hombre).  We had a slow 1st 9 holes, shaking off cobwebs from Friday night, but a BLISTERING back 9 brought us within contention of the W with only a few holes left.  We proceeded to dominate the finals holes going: Birdie, Birdie, EAGLE on the 18th for the win!  Embree sunk a 25 foot putt to seal the deal, and give us the trophy!

When the excitement wore off we realized we were still hungover, and went back to my place to nap and cool off (it was in the high 80s all weekend).

It was a great weekend, as it is every year!
